Description

Indulge in these flavorful Hibachi Steak Bowls packed with tender steak, vibrant veggies, and perfectly seasoned rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium zucchini, sliced
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown, or cauliflower rice)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the steak. Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger in a bowl. Place the flank steak in the marinade, ensuring it’s fully coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the steak is marinating, chop your vegetables.
  3. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, toss in the broccoli, bell peppers, zucchini, and carrots. Sauté the veggies until they are slightly tender but still crisp (about 5-7 minutes). Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the marinated steak. Sear it on both sides for about 3-4 minutes for medium-rare. Let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking.
  5. While the steak rests, fluff your cooked rice in a bowl and drizzle with a bit of rice vinegar if using.
  6. Slice the steak thinly against the grain.
  7. To serve, layer the rice at the bottom of your bowls, then top with the sautéed veggies and sliced steak. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to substitute chicken or tofu and add any favorite vegetables for a unique twist.
