Description
Delicious homemade pretzel dolls that are soft and slightly sweet, perfect for snacks or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- ½ cup warm milk (around 110°F)
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling on top (optional)
Instructions
- Start by proofing the yeast. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and the packet of active dry yeast. Let it rest for about 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center, then pour in the melted butter followed by the frothy yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll into small balls, shaping each into a doll.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F while preparing a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush each doll with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt, if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
- Take them out and allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
