Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon food coloring (green or black)
  • 1 teaspoon flavored extract (like apple, vanilla, or almond)
  • 6 wooden skewers or sticks
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly to remove any wax.
  2. Insert a wooden skewer into the stem of each apple.
  3. Combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan.
  4. Allow the mixture to boil until it reaches the hard crack stage (300°F).
  5. Add food coloring and flavored extract to the mixture.
  6. Dip each apple into the candy coating.
  7. Place the coated apples on a silicone mat or parchment paper to cool.
