Description
Delightful crescent rolls filled with a sweet pecan mixture, perfect for the holidays or any sweet craving.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
- Optional: chocolate chips or a splash of bourbon for added flavor
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and salt in a medium bowl. Mix until you have a thick, gooey filling.
- Open the crescent roll dough and lay it out on a clean surface, separated into triangles.
- Place a generous spoonful of the pecan mixture at the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough over the filling, starting from the wide side.
- Arrange each crescent on the prepared baking sheet, brushing the tops with melted butter for extra shine.
- Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Transfer the crescents to a cooling rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using a flax egg and vegan butter for a vegan option. Substitute walnuts or almonds for the pecans if desired.
