- 1 lb chicken sausage (or turkey sausage)
- 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper (red or green), diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
- 1 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, fresh herbs, or hot sauce
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil (or butter) in a large skillet over medium heat. Add in the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and diced bell pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Slice the chicken sausage into bite-sized pieces and add it to the skillet, stirring frequently until browned and fully cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).
- Stir in the chopped cabbage, mixing well with the sausage and veggies.
- Pour in the chicken broth and sprinkle with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as necessary. Serve when ready!

Feel free to substitute the sausage for other types or use plant-based alternatives for a vegetarian version.
