Description

A delightful twist on traditional pizza that promises all the flavors without the carbs. Perfect for anyone following a low-carb or keto lifestyle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (any color)
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: Olives, pepperoni slices, or cooked turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat in a large skillet for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onions become translucent, around 3-4 minutes.
  4. Toss in the diced bell peppers and sliced mushrooms. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and sprinkle in the oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Spread half of the meat mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish. Layer half of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and top with the rest of the mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute meat with lentils or tempeh. For a vegan option, use dairy-free cheese and add more vegetables.
