- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 cup cooked, crumbled turkey bacon or chicken bacon
- Optional: 1 cup broccoli florets or any favorite vegetable
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it lightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine diced potatoes, shredded chicken, and optional ingredients like cooked bacon or broccoli.
- In a separate bowl, mix together sour cream, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken and potato mixture in the large bowl and fold together gently.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly and sprinkling cheese and reserved green onions on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the casserole sit for about 5 minutes before serving.
