Description
A luxurious, velvety cream sauce featuring bright lemon and aromatic garlic that transforms any dish into a restaurant-quality meal in just 10 minutes
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- 1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it begins to foam slightly.
- 2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 60 to 90 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant and just beginning to turn golden.
- 3. Pour in heavy cream slowly while stirring, then add lemon zest. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- 4. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce begins to thicken slightly.
- 5. Gradually stir in Parmesan cheese, allowing each addition to melt completely before adding more.
- 6. Add lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- 7. Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley just before serving.
- 8. Serve immediately over pasta, chicken, seafood, or vegetables.
Notes
Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of cream to restore consistency. Sauce thickens when cooled. For a thicker sauce, simmer longer; for thinner sauce, add pasta water or additional cream. Best served fresh but can be frozen for up to 2 months, though texture may change slightly.
