Description
A delightful low-carb alternative to traditional sourdough bread, perfect for keto dieters craving the comforting texture and flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 1/4 cup psyllium husk powder
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted coconut oil
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir thoroughly to ensure there are no clumps.
- Add wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine warm water, apple cider vinegar, and yeast (if using). Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes until it’s frothy.
- Combine mixtures: Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring continuously. Add olive oil or melted coconut oil and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough: Use your hands to knead the dough for a couple of minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Shape the loaf: Form the dough into a round or oval loaf shape. Place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Preheat and bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes while the oven heats, then bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool and slice: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack. Allow it to cool completely before slicing.
