- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 3/4 cup sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup dried fruit (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Add baking soda and salt, mixing well.
- Combine sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Fold in the flour gently until no dry flour remains.
- If using, fold in nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Ripe bananas with dark spots ensure maximum sweetness. Substitute applesauce if short on bananas.
