  • Author: Mark Bennett
  • Total Time: 26 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Succulent, perfectly seasoned shrimp skewers with a zesty marinade, grilled to perfection with beautiful char marks. Quick, healthy, and incredibly flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 8–10 wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. 1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
  3. 3. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Let marinate for 15-30 minutes at room temperature.
  4. 4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, approximately 375-400 degrees Fahrenheit. Clean and oil the grill grates.
  5. 5. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers, piercing each shrimp twice (through the tail and head end) to create a C-shape, leaving small gaps between each piece.
  6. 6. Pat the skewered shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess marinade for better charring.
  7. 7. Place skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side without moving them.
  8. 8. Flip the skewers and grill for another 2-3 minutes until shrimp turn pink and opaque throughout with slight char marks.
  9. 9. Remove from grill and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  10. 10. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftover grilled shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. These skewers pair wonderfully with cucumber salad, rice pilaf, or grilled vegetables. For meal prep, marinate shrimp and thread onto skewers up to 24 hours in advance.
