  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  3. Toss in your trimmed green beans and blanch for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Drain the beans and plunge them into an ice bath.
  5. Whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  6. Combine the blanched green beans and the soup mixture in a large bowl.
  7. Transfer the mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle crispy fried onions on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
  10. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
