- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Optional: 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
- Drain the excess fat and stir in the chopped onion. Cook until translucent.
- Combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk in a separate bowl.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture, soup mixture, and cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
