Description

Delicious baked cinnamon apples enveloped in a sweet glaze, perfect as a dessert or topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, chopped nuts, raisins or dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly, then peel, core, and slice them into thin wedges.
  2. Add the butter to a large skillet over medium heat and allow it to melt.
  3. Stir in the apple slices to coat them evenly with melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and salt over the apple slices and toss gently.
  5. Cook the apples for approximately 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and caramelized.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For healthier alternatives, use honey instead of brown sugar and coconut oil instead of butter.
