Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skin-off, your choice)
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional garnishes: chopped green onions or sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, olive oil, and minced garlic in a mixing bowl.
- Place the salmon fillets on a lined baking sheet, skin-side down if applicable. Brush each fillet generously with the glaze.
- Season the fillets lightly with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the baking sheet to your preheated oven and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
- Turn on the broiler for a minute in the last stage for a charred finish.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the salmon to rest for a few minutes.
- Drizzle any remaining glaze over the salmon and garnish with green onions or sesame seeds.
Notes
For gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce. For a low-carb option, substitute maple syrup or a sugar-free sweetener for brown sugar.
