Description
Transform your grilled chicken with this easy BBQ marinade that delivers robust and zesty flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- ¾ cup of olive oil
- ½ cup of apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup of soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons of honey or brown sugar
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes for spice
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the olive oil and apple cider vinegar. Whisk them together until they’re blended perfectly.
- Add the soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), and minced garlic to the bowl. Mix thoroughly.
- Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, ground cumin, onion powder, salt, and pepper. If you’re feeling adventurous, toss in the red pepper flakes.
- Take your chicken pieces and place them in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring every piece is coated.
- Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes—longer is better.
- When you’re ready to cook, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
Notes
For best results, marinate chicken overnight for maximum flavor absorption. Discard any marinade that has touched raw chicken for food safety.
