Description
Deliciously crispy chicken cutlets made healthier with an air fryer, offering a delightful crunch without the excess oil.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best for extra crunch)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or olive oil (for crisping)
- Optional: Parmesan cheese (to mix into breadcrumbs for added flavor)
- Optional: Italian seasoning or herbs (for an aromatic touch)
- Optional: Lemon zest (to brighten flavors)
Instructions
- Begin by prepping your workspace. Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets, then pound them gently to an even thickness.
- Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: flour mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in the first; whisked eggs in the second; and breadcrumbs in the third.
- Take a chicken cutlet, dredge it in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally press it into the breadcrumb mixture to coat thoroughly.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray or brush with olive oil, then place the breaded cutlets in a single layer.
- Air fry the chicken cutlets for 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through. If needed, add 2-3 more minutes until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F.
Notes
Serve with sides such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a refreshing coleslaw.
