Description
A delightful, warm treat made with tender apples and spiced cinnamon, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium-sized apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or chopped nuts
Instructions
- Begin by washing and peeling the apples. Core and slice them into thin wedges.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until bubbly.
- Once the butter is ready, add the apple slices and toss gently.
- After 5 minutes, sprinkle in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Drizzle lemon juice over the apples.
- For an added depth of flavor, let the apples simmer for a minute longer, stirring constantly.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream or as a filling for crepes. Can substitute butter for coconut oil for a healthier option.
