  • Author: larsen
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A rich and spicy sauce that enhances any dish with a delightful kick, perfect for pasta or poultry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Begin by melting the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add the chopped onions. Sauté them for about 3–4 minutes, or until they become soft and translucent.
  2. To the onions, add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  3. Sprinkle in your Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika. Stir the mixture well.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Let it simmer gently for about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If desired, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Once the sauce reaches your desired thickness, remove it from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a plant-based option, use coconut cream and vegan margarine. For lower calories, consider half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
