Warm, gooey peach cobbler rolls wrapped in soft, pillowy dough, perfect for brunch or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or 2 cups canned peaches, drained)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
  • ½ cup butter, melted (for brushing)
  • ¼ cup sugar (to sprinkle on top)

Instructions

  1. Mix the yeast with ½ cup of warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Make a well in the center and add melted butter, eggs, and frothy yeast mixture. Stir to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Mix sliced peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon zest in a bowl.
  7. Roll the dough into a rectangular shape and spread the peach mixture evenly on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and slice into rolls about 1–1.5 inches thick, placing them in a greased baking pan.
  9. Cover with a towel and let rise for about 30 minutes, while preheating the oven to 350°F.
  10. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
  11. Bake for about 25–30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  12. Cool slightly before serving warm.
