Description
Tender and juicy BBQ chicken thighs, perfect for grilling during summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Fresh herbs for garnish (like parsley or cilantro)
Instructions
- Start by preheating your grill to medium-high heat, about 400°F.
- While the grill heats, prepare your chicken. Pat the thighs dry and place them in a bowl. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Once your grill is hot, place the chicken thighs skin-side down. Grill for about 7-8 minutes.
- After the first side is golden brown, flip the chicken thighs and brush them generously with BBQ sauce. Close the grill lid.
- Cook for another 10-15 minutes, brushing on more sauce every 5 minutes.
- To check for doneness, use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should reach 165°F.
- Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Marinating the chicken in BBQ sauce for a few hours can enhance the flavor.
