- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6–8 oz each)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and pound to even thickness.
- 2. Combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- 3. Drizzle olive oil over chicken breasts and rub to coat evenly on all sides.
- 4. Generously season both sides of chicken with the spice mixture, pressing to adhere.
- 5. Place chicken in a baking dish with space between pieces. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes.
- 6. Reduce temperature to 375°F and continue baking for 15 minutes.
- 7. Brush chicken generously with BBQ sauce and bake for 5 minutes.
- 8. Apply a second coat of BBQ sauce and bake for final 5 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- 9. Let chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
