Description

Delicious, gooey bars made with ripe bananas and melty chocolate chips, perfect for snacks or desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly with a fork or a potato masher.
  3. Pour in the melted butter into the bowl with the mashed bananas and mix until well combined.
  4. Add the brown sugar, and whisk it in until the mixture is smooth. Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract, blending well.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and all-purpose flour. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread the mixture evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes.
  9. Once baked, let the bars cool in the pan for around 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
