BAKED BALSAMIC CHICKEN BREAST

  • Author: Mark Bennett
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Tender, juicy chicken breasts baked in a tangy-sweet balsamic glaze with honey, garlic, and herbs. This easy weeknight dinner is ready in 35 minutes and delivers restaurant-quality flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6–8 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Remove chicken from refrigerator 20 minutes before cooking and pat completely dry with paper towels.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. 3. Place chicken breasts in a shallow baking dish and pour marinade over them, turning to coat all sides. Marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or up to 8 hours refrigerated.
  4. 4. Arrange chicken in a single layer in the baking dish, ensuring pieces don’t overlap. Pour any remaining marinade over the top.
  5. 5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, basting with pan juices halfway through cooking, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. 6. Optional: Switch to broil for the final 2-3 minutes for extra caramelization, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  7. 7. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Drizzle with pan glaze and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently in a covered dish at 350°F with a splash of broth to maintain moisture. Pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.
