Instructions
- Start by peeling and dicing the apples into small pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a frying pan or deep pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil.
- Once fried, transfer the fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to soak up excess oil.
