- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
- 2. Butter each bread slice generously, spreading to the edges.
- 3. Create a small well in the center of each bread slice using a spoon.
- 4. Place buttered bread slices in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
- 5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese onto each bread slice, creating a border around the well.
- 6. Carefully crack one egg into the well of each bread slice.
- 7. Season each egg with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- 8. Top with remaining cheese, distributing evenly over the eggs.
- 9. Cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes for runny yolk, or 11-12 minutes for set yolk.
- 10. Remove carefully from air fryer and garnish with fresh chives if desired.
- 11. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Notes
Store leftover toast in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in air fryer at 320 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-4 minutes. Best served fresh. Can customize with vegetables, bacon, or ham for variety.
